Happy Thanksgiving! While we recognize and appreciate that Thanksgiving has a problematic history, we’d like to take this week’s blog post to reflect on how far the Museum has come and be grateful for all the support we’ve received from our community. This was a monumental week. Subcontractor and elevator supplier, Garaventa Lift, was on site to begin the actual install of the elevator! This project broke ground in December 2020. After 11 months the elevator is finally being realized and we couldn’t be more excited!

Giving Tuesday | Tuesday, 11/30 | (all day)

A worldwide celebration of generosity. GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to come together through generosity in all its forms by sharing acts of kindness and giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and causes (GivingTuesday website). This is the perfect opportunity to join us in our efforts to raise the funds to bring the Somerville Museum into the 21st century by giving to our Access for All & More Campaign. Every donation of $1,000 or more will be immortalized on an outdoor donor wall. But every dollar counts to help us reach our goal – donate today!
