Painting is complete! Every interior designer will tell you that a fresh coat of paint can work wonders. Our gallery spaces are no exception to this rule. For about 7 days our painters worked tirelessly in the heat to refresh the spaces. We streamlined our color and finish selections for easier maintenance going forward. The Pisa Gallery (main gallery) walls are an off-white with a bluish/grey tint that matches the white in the renovated spaces. All the trim is pure white with a semi-gloss finish. The Sloane Gallery (small gallery) is all pure white on the walls with a semi-gloss wainscotting and trim. We even had the Central Street vestibule painted a pure white and repainted the exterior of the Central Street door (with permission from the Historic Preservation Commission). The space looks great and is now ready for the flooring to be installed.

We’re currently waiting on delivery updates for the flooring materials and then the installers will begin their work of transforming the spaces with this phase of the refresh. We’re excited for this space to be ready to use for the opening of our next exhibition, Sanctuary City, which opens to the public on Friday, September 16th.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we’ve begun a few social media campaigns to promote the upcoming exhibition with #artistspotlight, #merchandisemondays, and #flashbackfridays that highlight past exhibitions. We’re also gearing up for a fall full of programming, outdoor events, and exhibition openings. If you don’t already follow us on Facebook and Instagram, be sure to do so now so you don’t miss a thing!
