We are pleased to introduce our new Assistant Director, Alison Drasner! Alison comes to us with a Masters in Interior/Exhibition Design and years of experience working with museum collections and galleries from New York to Washington, DC and her hometown, Framingham, MA. She has been a proud resident of Somerville, MA since 2011 and an artist with a studio in Vernon Street Studios. She is looking forward to working with volunteers and the community through implementation of the Museum's programs and events. This is an exciting time!

What's Going On



Community Curator Awards Announced!!!


Bess Paupeck and Pennie Taylor will curate exciting interactive programs this fall and winter.


On Thursday July 12, the City of Somerville will recognize the long-standing and significant contributions to the Somerville community of Evelyn Battinelli and Michael O'Connell at the Board of Alderman's meeting. The event will take place at 7:15 p.m. in the Somerville City Hall Aldermanic Chambers. A reception with light refreshments will follow.  Parking will be relaxed during the event.

Throughout the summer, the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission schedules public openings of Somerville monuments: Prospect Hill Tower, Milk Row Cemetery, and the Old Powderhouse. Tours are conducted by Historic Somerville. View the schedule and sign up at
