This week marks the first time we used the new Multi-Purpose room! This room was created out of the previous collection storage space. We made the decision to include a space that could be used for various activities, including meetings, workshops, a prep space for period costumes, etc. It features a ton of cabinetry to house the period costumes and accessories, craft materials, and cleaning supplies. It also has a sink and counter for cleaning up after workshops.

So, what were we using it for? This meeting was for a few Collection Care volunteers who are helping us upload all of our collection items to a new database platform, PastPerfect. We’re prepping for when we’ll be able to bring the collections back to the Museum after Phase 2 in the lower level is complete. PastPerfect will help us track, inventory, and potentially host future virtual exhibits.

Just a fun “before” pic to remind of us of how far we’ve come!
