Phew! This has been a busy couple of weeks. In case you’re just tuning in, we’ve been very busy finishing up our Phase 1 renovation which includes the addition of the elevator and ADA upgrades. We also spent the summer months renovating our gallery spaces. And, in a few weeks we’ll begin the Phase 2 part of the project which includes the renovation of the collection storage area and bringing back the collections from offsite storage. Funds for this project have been raised through our Access for All & More Campaign. We’ve raised about 95% of our goal and there is still time to donate and be invited to our donors only event in October.

Did you know you can rent the Somerville Museum for your next event? We’re available for smaller rentals like company events, meetings, birthday parties, and weddings. Want to learn more? Contact us today at info@somervillemuseum.org.

In the past two weeks we’ve been dedicated to the installation of the Sanctuary City exhibition which is a Community Curator exhibition curated by Julia Csekö. It has been a whirlwind of projects, events, and promotion to get here and we’re so excited to invite you to see the space and experience Sanctuary City. Join us for a public opening reception on Saturday, September 24th from 12-5pm. Curator, Julia Csekö, and many of the artists will be present to talk about their work and answer questions. We also have many exciting events planned, so be sure to join our mailing list.
