We hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful holiday week. Our construction team has been hard at work this week pouring concrete for the sidewalks and starting to prepare for work on the new stairs at the Westwood Road entrance. They’ve also been hard at work inside with laying the new flooring in the reception area and installing trim. We’re making strides and hopefully (fingers crossed) we’ll be able to use the new space for the opening of our next exhibition, Bittersweetcurated by José Falconi and Santiago Montoya.

Bittersweet is scheduled to open the week of January 27th, 2022. We’re currently working on promotional materials, logistics, and finalizing the program schedule. We’re navigating our “new COVID normal” and figuring out ways to stay active while keeping everyone safe. We appreciate the community support and bearing with us as we figure out what we can do comfortably.

The Bittersweet project came to us through our Community Curator program. We hold this competition every year and it’s a great opportunity for artists, curators, historians, community members (anyone really!) to submit ideas for exhibitions at the Museum. The deadline for 2021 is fast approaching is…TODAY! So don’t delay and send us your application for consideration. It’s so exciting to see the creativity of our community.
