Regina Pisa
Trustee and former President
Regina M. Pisa is Chairman Emeritus of Goodwin, a leading Global 50 law firm with more than 1,400 attorneys, serving clients from 13 offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Ms. Pisa led the firm as Chairman and Managing Partner for more than 16 years, through 2014, and was the first woman to lead an AmLaw 100 law firm in the United States. Under her visionary leadership, Goodwin was transformed from a major regional law firm to a leading national and global firm.
Among her many awards and recognitions, The American Lawyer chose Ms. Pisa as its Distinguished Leader of the Year in 2017, heralding her as a pioneer and noting how her strategic vision and innovative style transformed not only Goodwin but the legal industry. The American Lawyer had earlier recognized Ms. Pisa’s innovative leadership style and vision for big ideas, naming her one of the “Top 50 Big Law Innovators of the Past 50 Years.”
Ms. Pisa grew up and attended public schools in Somerville, before going on to earn degrees at Harvard, Oxford, and Georgetown. She has often been heard to say that despite her extensive travels, her heart has never left Somerville. There is no better reflection of that than in her unparalleled commitment to the Somerville Museum. She has been involved with the Museum for well over thirty years and served as its past President. The Museum is very fortunate and grateful for her continued dedication.
