This week the construction team made progress on tiling, finishing up the exterior masonry, and getting ready to drywall tomorrow. The tile installer was also on site to template for the countertops in the kitchenette and multi-purpose room. We chose the overhang and edge radius. We’re also choosing our favorite quartz for the reception desk. It’s going to be a stunner! Which one do you like best?
In other museum news, we’re having our first official in-person event tonight with Rhett Butler, a leading hardware manufacturer with showrooms in NYC and Boston. Butler has not only kept Enoch Robinson’s visionary line of products alive but has also become a leading scholar of Robinson’s life and work. Currently completing the first comprehensive biography of Robinson, Butler will discuss the innovations and challenges that led to the construction of the roundhouse, that extraordinary building at the corner of Atherton and Beech Streets.
To ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors we limited the number of spots available for this event and gave our mailing list a first opportunity to reserve tickets. Tickets were $10 with free admission to active members. If you’re not already on our mailing list join today so you don’t miss exclusive offers like this!
