This may have been our busiest week yet. There’s a flurry of activity on site from the millworker installing trim to the installation of the ocular window. The tile in the reception area has been grouted and the stair material is almost completely installed. It’s a complicated dance between subcontractors figuring out how to work within our limited space, but the progress is visible.
Meanwhile, the installation of Bittersweet began today! Santiago Montoya, the artist and one of the curators, arrived from Miami this morning to finalize the layout and begin the installation. The staff and volunteers have been busy preparing for his arrival by clearing out the main and small galleries, the latter of which will be a temporary merchandise shop. Over the past few months, we’ve been expanding the selection of items in our shop. For this exhibition, we’ll soon be carrying chocolate from local chocolate vendors including Prophecy Chocolate to add to our collection of confections from Taza and Somerville Chocolate.
This has been a challenging two years and with winter upon us we all need something sweet in our lives. We’re really looking forward to sharing this exhibition and the many related events with the community. Be sure to check out our events calendar as we finalize all the details.
