This is a momentous week. We have passed our final building inspection and currently working to get a Certificate of Occupancy in our hands! Phase One of the project is almost completely complete (minus a few leftover punch list items). Phase Two will be starting soon and includes the rest of the basement area where the collections are stored. That area will also have lots of waterproofing measures taken and climate control to protect the collection objects. We’re also working our way through the “& More” part of the Access for All & More campaign to include some updates to the main galleries. More details on that to come.

As this phase of the project comes to a close, we reflect on the progress with a selection of before/after images and some details. But you don’t need to let the photos suffice – come and see for yourself! The Museum opens again to the public this Friday, April 15th with the Somerville Open Studios: First Look Exhibit. Normal open hours to follow.
